Your GTA paint job,
priced in two minutes.
No visit, no sales pitch. A crew that shows up when they say, does the work properly, and stands behind it with a two-year warranty.
How it works
Three steps. No site visit. No phone tag.
We scale the crew to your home — most are done in a single day.
Answer a few questions
Postal code, then a few quick ones — rooms, ceilings, trim, any prep you know about. No sales rep, no in-home visit.
Lock your price on the spot
Your price locks the moment you finish — a real number, not a range. Approximate room sizes are fine; small differences are on us. Anything significantly different needs your OK first. No surprises.
Pick your date, we show up
Most jobs start within a week. We adjust the crew size to your home, so most are done in a single day — larger homes may run into a second. On time, space protected, 2-year warranty.

Exterior painting
Brick, stucco, soffits, fascia, doors. We work the May-to-early-October window so the coat actually survives a Toronto freeze-thaw winter.

What's included
Every interior job includes all of this.
No good-better-best on the work itself — the prep, the coats, and the cleanup are the same on every job. The paint tiers only change which Sherwin-Williams product goes on your walls.
We protect the room first
Floors, furniture, and fixtures get covered and masked before a brush comes out. What we can't move, we cover; what we can move, we move.
Professional surface prep
We fill nail holes and hairline cracks, sand and scuff-sand glossy trim, and spot-prime bare patches and stains.
Two finish coats, cut in by hand
Two coats of your chosen Sherwin-Williams product, ceiling and trim lines cut in by hand — no tape lines doing the work a steady hand should.
Sherwin-Williams paint, matched to the surface
Duration or Emerald on walls, Emerald on ceilings, Pro Classic on trim and doors. You pick the colour; we pick the product that's best suited to that surface.
Cleaned up every day
The room gets tidied at the end of each day, not just at the end of the job. You get your home back in the state we'd want ours left in.
Two-year workmanship warranty
If for any reason there's an issue related to our workmanship or the paint we use, we're back to fix it within two years. In writing, on every job.
Here's what we don't do, in case it saves you a click.
We don't hang wallpaper, install drywall, or run standalone power-washing jobs. We don't do trim millwork as a carpentry service, and we won't stain your deck as a one-off (we will stain it if it's part of an exterior repaint we're already doing).
Plenty of good Toronto trades cover those. Focusing on surface repairs and painting is how we deliver great quality in a way that's really convenient for you. If what you need isn't here, we're probably not the right call, and we'd rather tell you that now than after a deposit.
Who does the work
Who's in your home, and what's covered.
Vetted crews, not day-rate labour
Your painters are highly-vetted pros — independent crews we've watched do the work, not names off a job board. The lead painter you meet on day one is the same one there on the last day.
Crews who know the housing stock
Pre-war plaster over lath, a stipple ceiling on a 70s bungalow, a Tridel or Daniels condo bulkhead — we assign a crew that's done that building type before, so nobody's learning on your walls.
$2M liability + active WSIB
Fully insured, every job. If your condo board or property manager needs a certificate of insurance named to them, ask and it's in your inbox the same day.

About TradeWinds Painting
Why we started TradeWinds.
Getting your home painted shouldn't be this hard. Homeowners are constantly inconvenienced by in-home quotes, see wildly varying prices for the very same job, and come away with no idea who to trust.
One example that stuck with us: a friend of ours off Pape Avenue got three quotes for the same job — main floor, two bedrooms up, trim throughout. Low was $4,800. High was $8,700. Eighty percent spread on identical work, and not one of the painters could explain how they got to their number. That isn't pricing. It's a coin toss with a clipboard.
Everything since has been built to fix that — a real price in about two minutes, from a company in your city, backed by crews who've been painting these homes for years. No padded prep, no quote that drifts mid-job. If scope changes, we re-quote just that piece, in writing, before anyone opens a can.
FAQ
Questions homeowners ask first.
Pricing
What does a “locked” price actually mean?
Your price is fixed the moment you finish the configurator — we don’t revisit it on quote day, paint day, or invoice day. And don’t worry about getting measurements perfect: approximate room sizes are fine. Small differences are on us, not you. On paint day the crew does a quick check of the rooms and surfaces against what you entered. Only if something is significantly different from what was described do we pause and talk to you first — and any change beyond 15% of your quote always needs your written sign-off before anyone opens a can. That’s rare; almost every job starts and ends at the number on your quote.
How can you quote without coming to my home?
The configurator collects what a good estimator would collect standing in your hallway. Room sizes, ceiling type (smooth, stipple, coffered), trim count, surface condition, colour change, paint tier. Our quotes are based on a history of thousands of jobs — century homes in Roncesvalles, post-war bungalows in East York, new-build condos downtown — so the labour numbers behind the form are calibrated to what these places actually take. Site visits in this industry mostly exist because the painter doesn’t trust their own numbers. We trust ours.
Why is interior priced instantly but exterior isn’t available yet?
Interior is structured — square footage, room count, trim, ceilings all fit in a form. We’re launching with interior only so we can get every job right before we scale. Exterior bookings open later this season. Email hello@tradewindspainting.com to get on the list.
Do you charge a deposit?
25% at booking to hold your start date. Balance is due at completion, after you’ve walked the job with the lead painter and signed off on every room. No progress payments in between.
Process
How fast can you start?
Usually one to three weeks. January and February we can sometimes start within a few days. May and June are tighter — once the weather turns, everyone in Toronto remembers they wanted their living room painted.
How long does a typical Toronto job take?
Most homes are done in a single day — we scale the crew to your place, so you’re not living around wet paint for a week. A large full house, or one with a lot of trim repair or stipple-ceiling removal, can run into a second day. We’ll give you a real working calendar when you book, not a vague range.
Who actually paints my home?
Highly-vetted painting crews — independent pros based across the GTA, from Etobicoke to Scarborough to East York — so we can find a start date that works for you. They’re not employees or day-labour; the lead painter you meet on day one is the same person you walk the job with on the last day. We don’t sub to whoever’s cheapest on Kijiji this week. For a condo, we assign a crew experienced with that building type.
Do I need to move my furniture?
We’d be grateful if you move what you comfortably can — out of the room, or to the centre. Definitely tuck away small and valuable things: electronics, art, lamps, anything fragile or irreplaceable. Don’t worry about the rest — our crew will happily move or cover anything you can’t.
What about condo elevator bookings?
If you’re in a Tridel, Daniels, Concord, or Menkes building, you almost certainly need to book the service elevator in advance. Most boards charge $150–$400 for a four-hour window and want 48 to 72 hours notice. You book it — management won’t talk to us as a contractor. A few buildings also prohibit work before 9 a.m. or on weekends, so check your declaration before you lock a start date.
What if the crew finds more prep work than expected on paint day?
On paint day the crew does a quick check of the rooms and surfaces against what you described. Almost every time it lines up and the job runs at the number on your quote. If they do find something meaningfully different, we pause, show you exactly what we found, and only carry on once you’re comfortable — and any change beyond 15% of your quote always needs your written sign-off before anyone opens a can. You’re never handed a bigger number at the end without agreeing to it first.
What if I don't approve the extra prep?
We’ll talk through the options together. For a cosmetic call, that can mean leaving it — your call, your money. But for something that affects the quality or safety of the job — water damage that should be fixed first, a structural hole, suspected asbestos or lead — we’ll be straight that we can’t just paint over it, and figure out the right path with you. You’re never charged for work you didn’t approve.
Materials
What paint do you use?
Sherwin-Williams, top to bottom. Emerald, Cashmere, or SuperPaint for walls depending on tier. Duration or Emerald Exterior for exterior siding, Loxon XP for stucco and masonry. ProClassic or Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel for trim. When you’re in a shared-HVAC condo or anyone in the home is sensitive, we move to Harmony for the lower VOC. We’ll tell you which line we picked and why.
Can I pick my own colours?
Yes. You can lock colours during configurator setup or anytime up to the night before we start. Most homeowners change their mind at least once, which is fine.
How many coats?
Two coats standard on interior walls. Three when you’re going dark to light, or jumping into a saturated colour like a deep navy or oxblood. Exterior is two coats over the right primer.
Warranty
What does the two-year warranty cover?
Workmanship. Peeling, blistering, drip and lap marks, missed spots, premature yellowing on trim. If we did it and it shouldn’t have happened, we come back. What it doesn’t cover: nail-hole repair after you hang art, normal wear around light switches, the dog scratching the back door.
What’s the warranty process?
Email a photo. A painter is usually back at your place inside a week. No invoice, no service call fee, no argument.
Booking
Where in the GTA do you work?
Across the city and out into the closer suburbs. Roncesvalles, Leslieville, the Annex, Cabbagetown, High Park, Riverdale, Leaside, Davisville, plus North York, Etobicoke, and Scarborough. Out of the core: Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Oakville. Drop your postal code on the home page and we’ll confirm coverage in a second.
Can I share my quote with my partner before booking?
Every quote gets a private link. Forward it, no login required. The link stays valid for 30 days.
What if I’m not ready to book yet?
The price stays locked for 30 days. We’ll send one or two gentle reminders, nothing aggressive. After that we may need to re-quote because paint and labour costs do move — but most homeowners book well inside the window.
Ready for a hassle-free, guaranteed quote?
Two minutes, no site visit. A locked price with no bait-and-switch, and a crew that guarantees the work for two years.
